Klarnica vine

This old autochthon variety originates from the Vipava Valley and was described by the historian Matija Vrtovets in his book about viticulture in 1824. After having been forgotten for many years, Klarnitsa was revived by several winemakers, of which we were one. This variety is suitable for the production of all types of wine: champagne, fresh and light wines, sweet and seasoned macerated. It is distinguished by its large cluster and tart-skinned berries and is similar in taste to acacia honey. The wine, greenish-golden in colour, is ideal with homemade prosciutto.
